The prototypes for the panels have been fabricated and implemented with a simple solar panel. The panels were designed so they extrude from the chassis, allowing for maximum internal volume capabilities for the customer’s given payload.
The next step in this process is to finalize the side panel design, and then begin to compartmentalize the internal electrical components to fit inside the side panels. Design has begun on developing deployable side panels that will be able to deploy outwards to 90 degrees. With mounted solar panels, these deployable side panels will increase the rate of power absorption by increasing the amount of surface area the sun’s light can contact.
